This is not an accident investigation report.
After crossing the final approach fix (Barlow Intersection) while on a
Localizer Directional Aid (LDA) approach to Runway 08, the aircraft struck
a slope in the Chilkat Mountain range at 2500ft.
PROBABLE CAUSE: Display of misleading navigational information during the
approach resulted in a premature descent below obstacle clearance altitude.
The cause of the display of misleading navigational information is not
known. The crew, however, didn't use all available navaids to check the
position of the aircraft.
